Preparing Activision To launch its new title from the famous Crash series entitled Crash Team Rumble this year, this part will be of the team type and present a phase of up to 8 players against each other competing in two teams of 4 players.
The Wikitexte team had the opportunity to experience the beta of the Crash Team Rumble game before its launch, and although it was a bit empty of players, and it was difficult to find a group to join, in the end, we found that it provided an enjoyable experience through which we were able to understand the mechanism and style of play.
In this impression, we will talk about the idea of the game, and how to deal with matches, whether you can win or lose. So without any further ado, let’s start with our beta experience.
The basic idea of the game
At the outset, we would like to make it clear that Crash Team Rumble is a 4v4 battle game where teams compete to be the first to score 2000 points in the shape of the famous wumpa fruit where you will have to smash boxes, slap other players, take advantage of boosts, and course master jumping across platforms.
All this is for the sole purpose of collecting as many wumpa fruits as possible to stack in the team bank before getting killed, no Forget it’s a beta version and only contains five characters, there will be more playable characters in the full game and they will be added later.
Crash and Tawna are both scorers, meaning they’re good for collecting and serving wumpa, while Coco and Cortex act as boosters, activating point bonuses, traps, and items around the map.
Finally, Dingo Dile is the only barrier, with powerful attacks and plenty of health to prevent the other team from scoring or defending the base. Players can choose any role they want, but I’ve found the most balanced team composition is two scorers, two boosters, and one block. No matter who you choose, you are not limited to doing only what your role says; For example, scorers can activate reinforcements, boosters can attack, and blockers can score. However, problems arise if you have someone slacking off their duty, which means your team has to be organized and agree.
Crash Team Rumble gameplay
In the beginning, players will not flip over how to play the game, because there is a tutorial that takes full care of teaching you the basics and even contributes greatly to making you a pro. A lot of my matches were one-sided, mostly with one opponent always the PC. But the game is so much fun when it’s evenly matched and real players join you.
The game always allows the commander to decide, for example, it may be up to you to wait for a boost to kick before scoring, place traps on the enemy base such as attacking plants, or use the stage circumvention element by collecting enough relics.
Other elements help you, such as choosing an Oxide ship to help you, a second base for your team that is worth double the points, or summoning Uka Uka to make you invincible. These are very powerful items and getting one of them can win a match with a win and guarantee you victory.
Arenas and progression system
There are only a few stages in the trial version, They all work somewhat similarly. The design is usually the same, but don’t worry, the diversity will be present in the final version.
The layout of the maps in the beta is as follows, you will have one bank on each side, at least two sets of extra gems to activate, a small set of traps and items, and course chests and fruits scattered around.
I don’t think the stages are based on specific levels in the game, instead, they are based on ready-made areas like the island, desert, and temple. Some stages can look very small, which makes it difficult to find collectibles as a logging tool since you have to wait for them to reappear after collecting them.
There’s a lot to experience and judge in the full game so, Crash Team Rumble will be released on June 20th for PlayStation and Xbox, so are you excited about it?
