The user interface (One UI) of Samsung phones is one of the most customizable interfaces in smartphones, as it allows you to customize your Samsung phone as you wish, through many great options and features that you can use.

And one of the useful and hidden features of the OneUI user interface in Samsung phones is the ability to take pictures without touching the shutter button on the screen or the volume buttons, instead, you can use the palm swipe gesture or voice commands to take pictures.

This means that you can set up your phone on a tripod, or place it on a surface, adjust the frame, and then you can take photos and record videos hands-free, by using voice commands or hand gestures, and if you have a Galaxy S22 Ultra or Galaxy S23 Ultra, you can also set up a shortcut for the stylus (S Pen) and take pictures by pressing it.

Here’s how to take pictures on Samsung Galaxy phones using your voice or hand gestures:

Firstly; How to enable the use of voice commands:

  • Open the Camera app on your Samsung phone.
  • Click on the settings icon in the upper-right corner.
  • Click on the Shooting methods option.
  • Activate the Voice control option by pressing the toggle button next to it.

Once you activate the voice control option in the camera app settings; You can take pictures by saying words such as Cheese, Smile, and Capture, or record video clips by saying Record Video, and if you use the front camera, a countdown timer will appear, allowing you to adjust the frame before taking pictures.

secondly; How to enable the use of hand gestures:

Modern Samsung phones support some unique gestures that make it easier for you to perform many tasks, including the gesture of swiping the palm over the screen to take a selfie.

To activate the palm swipe gesture in the Camera app on Samsung phones; You can follow these steps:

  • Open the Camera app on your Samsung phone.
  • Click on the settings icon in the upper-right corner.
  • Click on the Shooting methods option.
  • Activate the (Show palm) option by pressing the toggle button next to it.

Once this feature is activated, just swipe your palm in front of the front camera, and it will take a selfie of you after the on-screen countdown ends.
